So, Jaqueta wanted to me fill out my life as a soundtrack, and I’ve often considered what the soundtrack to my life would be. I mean, I already know my theme song, like what should play when I walk into a room…so I think I will fill this out for Jaqueta, although I don’t know if it will really tell her anything new.
Opening credits/Theme Song (this is the music that should play everytime I walk into a room): “Boogie On Reggae Woman” – Stevie Wonder or just the music from “Get Right”-Jennifer Lopez …one or the other. In fact, they should alternate. When I’m getting ready to get into trouble, or I’m plotting or planning something, “Get Right” should be playing. But not all the music from that song, just the opening part… I like that part. It sounds devious. When I walk down the street, “Boogie On” should be playing.
Dreaming about someone: Well, is this dreaming about someone like, someone you want to be all in love with? because if this is like, dreaming about my parents or like one of my professor’s that I seriously dislike (ROSS! UGH-ARGH-UGH-ARGH!!!) then this music doesn’t apply. But um, “Fever Dream” – Iron & Wine
waking up: “Morning Song” – Jewel
happy/friends: “What about your friends?” – TLC
driving: “Dreams” – Cranberries (I mean, honestly, everytime I’m driving, I hear this song…)
fight/action: “Shut Up” – Black Eyed Peas (now, this isn’t random like, in the street catfight is it? Because then again, the “Get Right” music should be playing…however, if this is me arguing with someone, I think “Shut Up” works just right”)
chase: “Jerk It Out” – The Caesars
sweet/love: “First Day of My Life” – Bright Eyes
mellow: 32 Flavours – Alana Davis
sex: “At Last” – Etta James
breakup: “Me, Myself, and I” – Beyonce
stalker: “You Don’t Know My Name” – Alicia Keys
angry/bitter: “Piece of My Heart” – Janis Joplin
Psychedelic/Euphoric/Drug: “Then the Morning Comes” – Smashmouth
contemplation: “100 Years”- Five for Fighting
sad/breakdown: the sad Charlie Brown Christmas music…the one that plays whenever they pick on him or whatnot. If you’ve every watched Arrested Development, this is the music that usually plays when the son (Michael is it?) experiences sadness. That or “The Blower’s Daughter” – Damien Rice… I guess Charlie Brown should be more of disappointment, like when you run up to the door of a building and they lock the door right before you get there…or like when you get back to your car after having been gone four minutes and you have a parking ticket…that’s where the charlie brown music fits in.
climax : “Break on Through” – The Doors
death : “The Scientist” – Coldplay
funeral : “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” – Beyonce
nostalgia : “End of the Road” – Boyz II Men or “Remember the Time” – Michael Jackson
closing credits: “Encore”- Jay-Z
I think this is pretty good…except I would probably change songs around alot, because there are so many I like. But you know, I guess this does it.
